divide network in smaller subnets - subnetting
convert IP range to 1 or more CIDR networks
subtract subnets to a list of networks intersection of 2 subnet lists

IPv6

sort IPv6 expand IPv6 shorten IPv6 check IPv6 format 

valid IPv4 networks are:
10.0.0.0/24
10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0

a valid IPv4 route is a network followed by any character sequence such as a next hop or route parameters
some valid routes:
10.0.0.0/24 1.2.3.4
10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 1.2.3.4
1.2.3.128/25 anything here is fine
